Description
A mining company in Southern Africa is currently seeking a HSE Manager for their open pit mine. The position will report to the Mine/General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Instil and manage a safe and healthy work environment
- Set up the HSE Department to deal with all health, safety, and environmental issues
- Compile H&S policies / procedures and implement them across the site
- Follow-up and monitor HS&E policies / procedures
- Compile Environmental policies and procedures
- Ensure that all environmental monitoring is completed on time and reported to Senior Management and concerned authorities
- Complete monthly reporting to Senior Management
- Create awareness among the Company staff regarding health, safety and environmental issues
- Support, motivate and train the Company local production staff on how to comply with and implement HSE best practices, HSE company and local policies and procedures
Requirements:
- 8 years in HSE and openpit mining environments
- Self-motivated individual with a good sense of initiative and organisation.
- Seasoned expat, experience working on remote mine sites
- Fluent in English and Portuguese is a MUST
- US dollar net salary
- Residential family status contract
- Monday to Fridays onsite, weekends off
- 20 days annual leave
