Description
Our client is an aluminium and bauxite producer, based in Conakry, Guinea.
Position summary:
To manage the financial processes, systems and personnel for the operation in compliance with statutory and corporate requirements, including but not limited to:
Financial and statutory reporting
Internal and external compliance
Taxation
Company secretarial
Treasury, accounts payable and payroll
Key responsibilities:
Lead the financial strategy to ensure the organisation has enough funding to deliver on plan, and that cash resources are optimally managed
Lead the financial reporting function to ensure statutory commitments are met and business leadership receives accurate and reliable data in a timely manner
Manage the finances of the organisation including preparation and administration of budget, tracking of expenditures, protection of company assets and risk management assessment, identification, mitigation strategies and controls
Ensure sufficient funding for activities and that they are at all times conducted with appropriate financial controls so that accurate records are maintained, security of assets is assured and that deviations from expectations are rapidly detected
Develop, manage and continuously improve finance policies, procedures and schedules ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements
Supervise all payroll activities, including the management of the expatriate payroll function ensuring confidentiality is maintained
Ensure appropriate financial and governance controls are established and maintained and make recommendations for strengthening where appropriate
Ensure compliance with all legislation and regulations
Manage the external financial audit process
Supervise cash and treasury functions, including managing bank accounts, user profiles, sign-off of banking reconciliations, payment requests and accounts payable
Lead health, safety, environment and community initiatives within the internal environment and ensure compliance of own department with statutory requirements and company mandates
Minimum Requirements:
Higher Degree in Finance / Accounting
Languages (mandatory): French and English
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Advantageous Requirements:
MBA
Chartered Accountant
This is a 6 month contract position.
