Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer – Life Insurance – Nigeria


A leading client in the Life Insurance sector is looking for an individual who possesses energy, drive, business acumen, adaptability and has an entrepreneurial spirit to steer the growth plans of the business in one of the fastest growing regions in Africa. The individual will report to the Board of the Company and the Regional Director.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Develop strategic- and annual business plans for the company and present to the Board of Directors for approval;
- Successfully implement the strategic and growth plans for the company
- Ensure that the organizational structure, management team and staff are aligned to implement the business plan;
- Optimise the physical infrastructure for the business to operate functionally and cost effectively;
- Develop and introduce profitable and competitive products and related services into the target markets through existing (broker) and own (agent, corporate) distribution and service channels;
- Formulate and implement corporate policies (adhering to good corporate governance), operational procedures and financial controls;
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the business to meet financial / profitability and related objectives;
- Adhere to statutory reporting and other regulatory requirements; and
- Marketing of the business among the community, media and key stakeholders in the government and private sector.


- Business post-graduate tertiary qualification (B-Commerce / MBA);
- Minimum 8 years relevant professional and technical knowledge gained specifically in a Life Insurance environment; and
- Minimum 5 years experience in a general management role in a Life Insurance environment; and
- Excellent understanding of all aspects of the Life Insurance business environment.

All candidates must be prepared to relocate into Nigeria for the duration of the position.
